Checklist

The parents are coming to visit me, separately, over the course of the next two weeks. I know from experience that this means they expect a number of tasks to have been carried out preceeding their arrival in the Mother City.

For Mum:

• Get car cleaned (inside and out)
• Make flat spotless (dust bedside tables and wash dishes) and make bed
• Go for a facial (Mum hates a dirty skin)
• Get a hair cut (Mum hates jagged, whispy ends)
• Wear only the clothes Mum has given me
• Be on time
• Don't go out the night before she gets here
• Make all restaurant bookings a week in advance

For Dad:

• Cancel all plans to make time for Dad
